Palisades Village Board Meeting: May 17

The Palisades Village Board will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 17, in one of the upstairs meeting rooms in the Palisades Library, 4901 V Street, N.W. (at the corner of 49th Street, N.W.). Parking is on the street or in the lot behind the Library.

The Board meeting is open to the public, and vistors may join the discussion, but only Board members may vote.

Palisades Village members who would like a ride to the meeting should contact the Palisades Village office at info@palisadesvillage.org or 202-244-3310.

Member's Works on Display

Join us at a special exhibition showcasing the art and craft of master bookbinder Stanley M. Sherman. His works will be on display at the Palisades Library, on Friday, May 25 from 2-4 pm, in the upstairs small meeting room.

Stan has had a distinguished career as an architect and city planner. He received his architectural degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he studied with I.M. Pei and in whose office he later worked. Stan has been a bookbinder for over 25 years, learning his craft in the studio of Tom Albro, longtime chief rare book conservator at the Library of Congress.

In 2006, his work was featured in a solo exhibition at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. Many of the 24 works that will be on display at the Palisades Library were featured in that exhibition.

Stan and his wife, Claire, are long-time members of our Village. We’re proud to offer you this rare opportunity to see his work and to meet him in person.
