Reasons to Become a Member

Palisades Village began offering members assistance in January of 2009. The membership of Palisades Village will grow as you tell your friends about the organization and some of the following reasons to join:

• You want to remain in your home
• You never know when you’ll need help
• Deepening relationships with friends, and making new ones comes naturally when you are involved in activities together
• Finding others  who want to pursue the same

interests will be a snap

• Calling on volunteers can be easier and less awkward than repeatedly asking neighbors or family members for help
• Palisades Village volunteers can do much to save you and your family time and money
• Palisades Village vendors are carefully pre-screened, which is more reliable than just asking a few persons you know for recommendations
• Palisades Village will follow up with you, via e-mail or telephone, about your experience with volunteers and vendors
• Having Palisades Village as an advocate when your expectations are not met by a vendor will have more impact than complaining to that vendor yourself
• If you do need personal assistance, Palisades Village can and will help to keep you from feeling isolated in your own home
• The annual membership dues ($500 for individuals, $750 for households, and special arrangements for those with limited incomes) are a bargain for the resulting peace of mind and benefits

Why the emphasis on increasing membership? It’s the economics of scale. Our value to each member increases as more members volunteer to help one another, and our clout with vendors increases. Our goal is to enroll 150 members this year, which will put us well on the way to being self-sustaining.
