Poetry Group – Open to the Public
Date(s) - 05/04/2018
11:45 am - 1:30 pm
Palisades Community Church Parlor
Please join us in a workshop
on learning how to express one’s feelings through poems
or non-rhyming verse.
Whether you have something to share or just want to explore the idea of starting to write, this workshop is for you. Susan Meehan, winner of the 2017 DC Poet Project, will lead the group and will be joined by a guest poet. Lunch will be provided.
You are encouraged to bring your own poems to discuss with the group or just to discuss how to start writing poems or other personal expressions such as vignettes of one’s experiences.
This will be the second of three workshops hosted by Palisades Village. Susan has a grant from the DC Commission of the Arts and Humanities to find ways to encourage senior villages to support continuing poetry/creative writing programs. This is the third of seven workshops sponsored under the grant through the Dupont Circle Village, the Waterfront Village, and Palisades Village. Attendees of all ages and from all parts of the City are welcome.
